SEND Events at St Marys

Take a look at some of the great events our SEND children have been involved in this year.

World Autism Awareness Week - March 2018

The children at St.Mary’s celebrated World Autism Awareness Week (week beginning 26th March). Many classes watched videos such as ‘Amazing Things Happen’ to highlight autism and the impact it can have on young peoples lives.

SEND Lunchtimes - January 2018

I have asked some of our SEND children to share their opinions about lunchtime i.e what they like, dislike and how things can be improved. With the help of Mrs Rowan we will be doing a trial run of a lunchtime 'club' with a wide range of activities to develop social and communication skills and provide a safe haven for some of our most vulnerable children.

SEN Coffee Time - January 2018

Thank you to the parents/guardians and grandparents for attending our recent 'Coffee Time'. Mr Bridgen (the newly appointed SEND governor) and I both valued the discussion and points raised with those that attended. The next steps suggested to help improve the SEND provision at St.Mary's will be taken on board and shared with the staff at St.Mary's.  We would also like to thank any parents who returned completed questionnaires.
