Head Teacher's News - Autumn Term 2017
Take a look at some of the great things we have been doing at School.
Head's News - October 2017
The term has once again got off to a flying start. Last week the children in Year 3 visited Chester in conjunction with their topic on the Romans. They had a wonderful time and were eager to tell me all about it. They visited the amphitheatre, marched along the walls of Chester and re-enacted a gladiator fight
The Nursery’s Teddy Bear Picnic was delightful. It is lovely to see the children sharing a book so enthusiastically with their parents and of course their favourite teddy bear! The Reception dress up as a book character day was also a triumph. The children and teachers looked amazing!
Head's News - September 2017
Welcome back to another busy academic year at St Mary’s. On Monday this week, we gathered together to celebrate Mass in church. The children had been asked to think about what they were looking forward to learning about this year and these were presented to Fr Michael during the offertory.
Our Year 4 children have started their music lessons on a Monday afternoon with Mrs Chalk. All the children have the opportunity to play a brass instrument together. I have been very impressed with the enthusiasm of the children and know that they will have great fun learning to play an instrument this year.
Last week, the PDSA visited the children in KS2 teaching them how to keep safe around dogs. The children listened carefully in assembly and really enjoyed the informative workshops that followed.
I am delighted that we have been able to increase the range of activities we offer after school. These include archery, tennis, orienteering and multi skills which the children are clearly enjoying.
