Black History Month - October 2019
As a school, we have celebrated Black History Month. Year 2 have looked at the life and celebrations of Usain Bolt.
We also recently discussed Rosa Parks and her brave decision on the bus. The children talked about equality.
Habitats - October 2019
Year 2 have been learning all about Habitats and Animals in their science lessons. We went into our forest school garden to create the perfect habitat for a hedgehog. The children worked in teams to make sure that the habitat provided everything that the hedgehog needed.
Hello Yellow - October 2019
As a school, we celebrated World Mental Heath Day by wearing yellow to school. We talked about how it is important to look after our mental health the same way we look after our bodies and physical health. The children had a meditation session and enjoyed relaxing!
Africa Display - October 2019
As you will know, Year 2's Geography topicthis half term has been all about Africa.
Our children have completed some wonderful home learning about Africa and we would like to thank our lovely parents who have kindly donated some precious things for our Africa display.
Osebo the Leopard - October 2019
Year 2 have been learning all about Africa in our Geography lessons!
We found a mysterious letter in our classroom from a boastful leopard called Osebo, the children had to read the clues to find him!
Noun Hunt - October 2019
Year 2 are learning all about nouns! We went on a noun hunt around the school to spot people, places and things.
New Beginnings - October 2019
The Year 2 children celebrated their recent RE learning all about New Beginnings with a Paraliturgy. The children brought in their baby photos and we offered them to God. We read the story of creation from the Bible and sang songs together.
Year 2 First Week - September 2019
Year 2 survived their first week and had a blast! We have all settled in well together and are looking forward to learning lots of new things together this year.
